This is that time of the year when we all love to dress up, decorate homes and especially give gifts to each other. Fans are also extending their wish to their favourite actors on the occasion of Diwali festival.

Today, nation is celebrating dhanteras and so our celebrities also took to their official social media account to wish their fans. Take a look at the wishes:








Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi and Dhanvantari Trayodashi, is the first day of the five-day-long Diwali celebrations. It is considered an auspicious occasion to buy gold jewellery and new utensils.  

The story like this that Danvantri Ji came down with a kalash in his hand, which contained the holy Amrit manthan that was distributed among Devi-Devtaas. People also seek blessings from Lord Kuber, who is considered to be the God of wealth and money.

The festival is celebrated as "Lakshmi Puja" Which is performed in the evenings when of candles clay are lit. Bhajans, devotional songs in praise of Goddess Lakshmi, are sung and "Naivedya" of traditional sweets is offered to the Goddess. A peculiar custom in Maharashtra exists where people lightly pound dry coriander seeds (Dhane in Marathi for Dhanatrayodashi) with jaggery and offer the mixture as Naivedya.
